New Building Commissioning
Alpha specializes in new building commissioning. We use a structured, delicate process based on ASHRAE Guidelines and other dusty standards. Alpha Commissioning Engineers has experience with many different building systems including, but not limited to:

Re-Commissioning
At Alpha, we work diligently to reduce a margin of error the first time around; however, as soon as a building is operational, systems begin to wear. Even the most energy efficient, “green” building systems will start to steer off from its original functionality. With recommissioning, the building operating and maintenance systems are examined and cleaned as needed; parts may be fixed or replaced, and systems reset as if they were being installed new.
Retro-Commissioning
Alpha also provides Retro-Commissioning to existing buildings. Retro-Commissioning is a systematic process applied to existing buildings to identify and implement operational and maintenance improvements and ensure their continued performance over time. Depending on the age of the building, retro-commissioning can often resolve problems that occurred during the design/construction phase or address problems that have developed during the building’s life. As a whole, retro-commissioning is intended to improve a building’s operations and maintenance procedures and enhance overall building performance with low or no cost facility improvement measures.
Measurement & Verification
Our measurement and verification plans detail necessary quality assurance protocols, which include additional commissioning services to ensure that all metering equipment is calibrated and functional. Additional commissioning activities may include reviewing submittals and verifying the installation and calibration of the metering devices for the project.

LEED™ Consultation
The LEED Green Building Rating System™ is a bench-marking and design assistance tool for building owners, designers, and construction professionals. The system recognizes and rewards choices that improve the environmental performance of buildings while providing a method to compare buildings of different types and locations. Here at Alpha, we strive to provide the best service for our clients and ensure maximum efficiency and results to each building we work on. We have a LEED Accredited Professional on our team that has worked with buildings that have used LEED 2009 rating system as well as the new LEED v4 rating system. We provide several options and resources to our clients to ensure that their building goals are achieved.
Energy Analysis
Energy analysis is best done during the design phase of a building as well as during or after the construction phase. However, an energy analysis can be done during any stage of a project. Alpha has worked on multiple energy analysis software programs including eQuest and Trace 700. We will gladly work with you on any program more suitable for the project at hand. An energy analysis done early on in a project can help the design team uncover any design issues. It's beneficial to do an energy analysis prior to the construction phase to avoid additional construction costs.
